I am a patient teacher who incorporates whole-brain teaching strategies to ensure that my pupils can understand the concepts clearly.

For science, I incorporate strategies such as concept mapping, flash cards, charts into the teaching and learning.

My focus for tuition lessons will not be in merely giving pupils answers or assisting them in the completion of their school work. There will be teaching that will be supplemented with drill and practice questions that are prepared by me.

For my first 2 sessions, I will spend the time revising on topics and before the teaching of each topic; I will provide my pupil with a pre-test to assess the child's readiness. This ensures that I am aware of the child's strengths and weaknesses.  I prefer preparing my own worksheets for the pupils. By doing so, I ensure that it matches the syllabus. Additional work will be supplemented with assignments from assessment books.  My expectations are also realistic and I work well with parents.

It is important for the pupil’s parent(s) to be cooperative and flexible. The parent should be able to tell me about their child's character and also their strengths and weaknesses. I believe that it is a collaborative effort that ensures that the child achieves good results.

I prefer to coach and work with pupils who are average scorers as I work better with weaker pupils and am able to coach them to pass and/or achieve a band 2. As for pupils who are already at the Band 1 mark, I am also able to coach them to achieve their A star. However, I need the agent/agency to inform me of the child’s grades and standard prior to my first lesson so that I am well prepared for my lessons and have sufficient time to come up with a tuition plan.
